Awards and Bursaries
AMAS Symposium Bursaries
Bursaries to support attendance to the 17th Symposium of the Australian Microbeam Analysis Society (AMAS) are available due to the generous support from the Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Society (AMMS) and AMAS.
Thanks to all who have applied for bursaries. The committee has assessed all applications and notified the successful applicants.
Up to eight bursaries were awarded. Each includes complimentary registration to the meeting, and non-Melbourne based delegates will receive an additional $500 AUD towards travel and/or accommodation expenses.
Awards for Students and Early Career Researchers
Three amazing awards are available at AMAS 2026 for students and ECRs to travel to international conferences, with funding provided by both AMAS and the host microanalysis society. They are:
MAS Award to attend M&M
- Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, 2-6th August 2026
- $1000 AUD from AMAS
- Free registration from MAS
EMAS topical conference on EBSD
- CentraleSupélec, Gif-sur-Yvette, France, 14-17 June 2026
- $1000 AUD from AMAS
- Invited speaker slot at the Workshop program.
- Free full registration, including welcome reception on Sunday, lunches on Monday and Tuesday, and the Workshop Dinner on Tuesday evening.
- Free hotel for 3 nights, arrival on Sunday and departure on Wednesday. If the participant would like to arrive one day earlier to recover from jet-leg, then EMAS will also cover that.
- 100 Euro cash for other living expenses
IUMAS 9 Conference
- Xi’an China, 31st May – 3rd June 2026
- AMAS award for best student presentation
- $1000 AUD from AMAS
- Free registration
- IUMAS will contribute $1000 USD
