On behalf of the AMAS Executive Committee, we would like to invite you to submit an abstract for a presentation at our seventeenth biennial symposium to be held in Melbourne from the 11th – 13th of February 2026. We encourage you to come along and present recent work using microscopy and microanalytical techniques. Themes for special sessions in this symposium include:

• Cultural heritage
• Soft x-ray analysis and light element analysis
• Synchrotron microanalysis
• Laser ablation techniques
• Advanced microanalysis techniques in industrial, geological or materials problems.

Abstract on other microanalysis topics will also be warmly welcomed.

Abstracts can be up to 2 pages in length, with instructions for authors available on our website. Abstracts are due by the 20th of December 2025.

Meeting registrations are now open, with early bird rates available until Friday 28th of November, 2025. We also have eight travel bursaries available for students, early career researchers, and technical staff. See our website for eligibility details.
